Kelsey Parks Brown ENGL 1101 1 December 2013 Letter to Myself Reflection 1.

As an introspective task, how useful is this assignment? Why do you state so? I think that this assignment was definitely useful, particularly as an introspective task. It provided me with the opportunity to thoroughly re-evaluate the last few years of my life. With the insider perspective that I have on my own life, I benefited from offering my younger-self genuine tidbits of advice. 2. Why would I ask you to perform such an introspective task? Why do you state so? I think you would ask us to perform such an introspective task because it forces us to dig deeper into our own feelings, thoughts and experiences. I think that the best way to learn is through experience, so re-living these past actions teaches us how to handle future obstacles. Also, I believe that this introspective task gives us the opportunity to look at past experiences with a new perspective. At every point in our lives we think we have everything figured out. It isnt until we mature, grow older, and look back at a situation that we realize how unknowing we were. This task taught me to do this, and to address what I would do differently. 3. How successful was this task at self-reflection for you? Why so?

I think that this task was extremely successful for me in the aspect of selfreflection. I think this because, I took the task very seriously. I truly re-evaluated my high school years, and asked myself which pieces of advice would be most beneficial for me to attain pre-high-school. 4. Under the presumption you have completed the assigned task, as assigned, and truly, honestly attempted the concept to your best intentions, how would you rate your own work on a scale of 0 - 10? (Consider the Stephen Frye letter to be a 10 and writing a single sentence of, this is stupid, to be a 0) What shows as evidence of the score youve assigned your work? I would assign my work a 9. I genuinely attempted the task with my best intentions. I did not give it a perfect 10, because I feel that there is always room for improvement. I think making my letter more specific and personal could make an improvement, describing specific experiences. I think evidence that my work deserves this score can be found in the content. It is evident that I took the assignment seriously by assessing each year of high-school individually and thouroughly explaining my outlook on each one.
