Name Cell body Dendron Axon

Description Contains the nucleus where all chemical reactions are made. Long thin process in a neurone. Long thread like part of a nerve cell.

Function

Myelin Sheath

Mixture of proteins forming a sheath around nerve fibres. Chemical synapse between a Moto neuron and a muscle fibre. Organ with nerve endings A short branched extension of a nerve cell

Carries nerve impulses towards the cell body. Impulses are conducted from the cell body to other cells. Carries nerve impulses away from the cell body. Increases the speed at which impulses are conducted. Signal is transmitted that ultimately cause the muscle to contract. Responds to stimulation Impulses received from other cells at synapses are transmitted to the cell body.
