Scrutineer (1) All championships and open competitions most employ a qualified scrutineer.

Scrutineers must hold a BDC license or a similar recognised qualification. (2) The scrutineer must work under the direction of the Chairman of judges. (3) The scrutineer must not reveal the marks or results to any person, during the competition, unless instructed by the Chairman of judges. (4) The scrutineer must supply the organiser of the competition a copy of all the adjudicators marks immediately after the competition. Marks on a CD are acceptable. The scrutineer must forward the marks to the IDC webmaster for publication. (5) It is not necessary to use a qualified scrutineer at School competitions or School Invitational competitions, however, the scrutineer at these events must have knowledge of the "skating system". (6) The scrutineers fee should be agreed by the scrutineer and organiser before the event.
