Warriors State Park Walkabout Poem As I step out of the car at the park, I cant help but notice

the beauty that surrounds me. There isnt a cloud in the sky. The temperature is perfect, and the water is so nice and calm. I hear the melodies of the birds around me, the chirping of the crickets, and the voices of nearby passers. Walking around the path, a squirrel scurries across, right in front of me, I believe I showed more fear then it did. The ducks swim gracefully through the lake. The mallard dives under the water. A minute passes before he surfaces again, enjoying the fish he so elegantly caught. The grandfather holds his granddaughters hand, he slows his steps for her little legs to catch up. He speaks to her sweetly, carefully directing her along the path. The spinning of wheels on pavement floods my ears as he passes. The couple on a paddle boat swiftly make their way to the other side. As I round the path again, I notice the ducks rapidly swimming in their famous V.

The little girl and her grandfather are feeding the ducks bread. The innocent child is so excited at the sight of them all. The ducks are so brazen; they come with in feet of the two. The domesticated wildlife, the elegant depiction of nature, what a wondrous and amazing sight to witness!
