Section Six has passed-Changes to come

As of 11:38 AM, in Washington DC on this day, congress has passed and the president has signed into law Section 6 of Amendment 14, what many have dubbed the Equality Bill. Section 6 will revolutionize the idea of marriage, creating longer, happier unions. Upon implementation of this amendment on January 1, 2026, all engaged couples are required to go through a screening process before a marriage is to be approved. This bill has been under fire for nearly a year when it was first proposed, much of which coming from the conservative right. Protesters have been camping outside of the White House for several months, lead it seems by Rev. James House. In his interview Mr. House had this to say immediately after the passing, "This is it. This is how we end the human race. What's the world come to when you have to ask the government if you can get married? This is an infringement on basic human rights..." In opposition, the head lobbyist for the bill, Michel Grayson also agreed to an interview. He expresses his utmost joy over the ratification's passage, and had been quoted as saying, "This is what we have all been waiting for, for too long my partner and I have been waiting to wed, and we are finally receiving the chance to prove our worth. The LGBT community have been the only ones scrutinized when it comes to marriage, this levels the playing field." As the ratification's head player, Mr. Grayson has been behind the gay rights movement from the beginning. In 2017 he helped found the CQP (the Coalition of Queer Peoples) in order to help combat the inequality of marriage, demanding marriage equality and freedom within their basic human rights. Grayson is currently in a committed relationship with Zoticus Wilmer and he has expressed his desire for his to be the first couple married in this new system. ~Angelia Reader
