Cub Club Intervention Log Date: Sept. 26 Oct. 3 Oct.

10 What We Did: One student came, I gave him the metacognitive test and we talked and read his library book together. Two more students showed up, I began giving them the metacognitive test as well. Finished administering the metacognitive test. We picked out a few books on sharks from the classroom and played a game where we would read a page and try to tell the group everything we could remember about the type of shark. Two students came; I administered the passage comprehension/retelling checklist to both students. My third student showed up today and I administered the retelling checklist to her while my two other students played the retelling game with each other. Two students showed up, they were given a short passage and a comprehension worksheet to complete. I brought in three books from home and gave each student one to read that I thought was on their reading level. After reading the book they were given a strip of paper and on one side wrote a sentence (tweet) about the book and then on the other side wrote one word about the book. Students were given back their strip of paper and tell the group everything they could remember about the book after looking at the one word, then they told as much as they could after looking at the sentence side of the paper. Final assessment and club party. Students were very distracted during the assessment because of the noise level and amount of people in the room.
