Jesus Garcia Corona

Born in: Hermosillo, Sonora, Mxico. November 13, 1881 - november 7, 1907 History: He was a Mexican engineer remembered for giving his life to save the people of Nacozari, Sonora, for what is known as the Hero of Nacozari. Just turned 17, Jesus asked directly employed in the office of the Railroad Mining Company. Due to his young age, the York manager gave him work as water carrier, but was quickly promoted, and soon reached the road maintenance sector. He worked as a brake controller and later as a firefighter. At the age of 20 he became engineer machines. In the spring of 1904 he was awarded a paid trip to St. Louis, Missouri, United States. With him traveled mechanical Rocco Cipriano Rafael Montao , Jos Vejar , hub manager , Zechariah and Heraclius Ruiz Ramos, department stores , the electrician Ignacio Montano , Francisco Ancira , and Manuel Vasquez, the sales department of the company. Nearly six in the morning of November 7, 1907, Jesus went to the center Nacozari. His engine was the # 2 (erroneously known as # 501, due to a popular song), built on request to the Company Porter of Pennsylvania in May 1901, and was a little lower than those normally used. Having been greased and ready to go, Augustine Barcel and Hipolito Soto, brakeman reported that Albert Biel, a German middle-aged, was in the hospital, so Jesus Garcia replaced him and was in charge of the train.
