Reflection Letter I have had some mixed feelings about this semester in English 1101.

I enjoy the fact that the class is very small, and it is a free discussion and friendly environment. This makes the class enjoyable and easy to pay attention as I want to hear what everyone has to say. This, however, is counteracted by the fact that the class is so early in the mornings and meets on Fridays. This makes me just not want to be there at all and go back to sleep. Also, I do not like the seating arrangement of sitting behind eachother and looking at the backs of eachother's heads. For me, sitting in groups of four where you are facing eachother makes it much easier to openly communicate and make friends. I really enjoy all the group work we do. We work in groups almost every class and it honestly kind of forces me to interact with my classmates so early in the morning, as I am not much of a morning person. Having to get up four times a week for 8 a.m. classes this semester has not been very fun for me. This class however, was definitely the better of the two 8 a.m. courses. From this course I have learned how to better analyze texts and write about them in an analytical manner rather than just summarizing what was written. Also I have learned everything I could ever want to know about discourse communities and literacies. As much fun as this class was, I look forward to the end of this class and the beginning of knew courses in January.
