Pl1illppine Arc:hlt.>cts Society (PAS), the arc:hltecb.Jral association organized In
tie Philpplnes. The seoond ecitlon of their document wu made on February 2 1,
1941
After the name of the organization was changed to Institute ot
Ardlltects (PIA), a new Code ol E1111cs was published on April 7, t946. This was
amencSed and a lou1h edition was ptmllshed In 1 GSO.
On November 25, 1960, attar me Code ot Ethics, a new set of
dorunents entitled 'National Code ol At<:111tecrs Services and Fees In the
Pl1illppines" was publlsh<ld.
On Oclober 23. 1965, lf1e 'Architect's Nadonal Code" was opproved by the
r>ree organizations exlsfng at that time. namely, r>e Phllppine lnsdb.Jte or Archileeto
(PIA), 111<1 Lsa91JO or Phllppine Archllects (LPA), and the Association or Philippine
Government Architects (APGA).
On January 15, 1975, the three archltecb..r.11 organizations were Integrated
into one assodaSon called the umod Architects or the Phil""inos" ( UAP).
In the process of consolidallng all the documents or the ttwee organizations,
tie UAP saw the n&eel to review and update them In order to be more responsive to
tie practice of lho profession in lhe Phi!Wines. The first <!raft of lho re\ltsed coda
was J)<blished by lf1o UAP in Oclobor t9n.
In the continuilg exarrination of fle expaOOng practice of the architect, lhe
UAP Committee on Professional Practice was tasked to prepare the fllal draft,
decided to divide the Architects National Code ilto two civlsions, namely:
1. Code or Etoical Conducl
