Brave New World

My character choice is Linda; the one character who demonstrated that our world and the way we think is completely different from that of Huxleys brave new world. The consequences Linda faced were so incompatible, unable to function because of her condition. But I admire Linda; she overcame her condition in one of the most impacting ways: she gave in, and thats a very difficult step, being able to embrace the maternal instinct. Regardless of the entire name calling Linda received, she was still a very loving woman in her maternal qualities. "Don't you want to be free and men? Don't you even understand what manhood and freedom are?" Rage was making him fluent; the words came easily, in a rush. "Don't you?" he repeated, but got no answer to his question. "Very well then," he went on grimly. "I'll teach you; I'll make you be free whether you want to or not." And pushing open a window that looked on to the inner court of the Hospital, he began to throw the little pill-boxes of soma tablets in handfuls out into the area. In this context, John son of Linda quickly escalates from what was inexperienced to a complete rage. Passion is a very touchy subject
