BIO 223 A T-Cell is a type of lymphocyte.

Lymphocytes are white blood cells produced by stem cell divisio i bo e marrow of the ster um! ribs! pelvis! a d vertebrae. The cells the mature i the thymus. The two types of lymphocytes are T-Cells a d B-Cells. T-cells determi e the immu e respo se to forei" molecules i the body #a ti"e s$. This is called the cell mediated respo se - T-cells %ill the cells which have become i fected with the forei" substa ce. T-cells have receptors protrudi " from their surface which allow them to act li%e a tibodies. These TCell receptors ca &t reco" i'e free-floati " a ti"e s but ca locate a ti"e s o the surface of i fected cells. (ome T-Cells will directly attac% these i fected cells #)iller T-Cells$.
