NO SHYING AWAY ANYMORE Key Verse: ..Lord, I will follow You wherever You go. Vs. 57 From the courts of God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, I welcome you into this New Year 2014 and I pray it will be a blessed one for us all in Jesus name. Let us begin today with a little narrative. In his book, Following Gods Plan for Your Life, Kenneth Hagin tells us of a man who got Gods call into the ministry in his teenage. This was an exciting revelation to him and he was willing to carry out his assignment, but, only if it was not going to involve him travelling to Asia as a missionary. For several years in his life, he battled with this great fear of his. This way, he remained unusable by God until he finally let go of this fear around his late fifties. And when he did, he surprisingly discovered that God had never intended for him to be a missionary. He was only waiting for him to become COMPLETELY WILLING! Our passage today shows us different people who were willing to follow Jesus but they all wanted to do one thing or the other first. This is the same situation with many today. If we were to analyze it critically, we would see that at ever y point in time, there always seems to be a better time, a more convenient way to serve the Lord other than the present. We might want to wonder why Jesus made a remark like, let the dead bury their dead but that only points out how urgent His call upon our lives is. 2 Corinthians 6:2 does not say today is the day of salvation but it says NOW! So, my dear reader, if you are yet to surrender your life to Jesus or still holding back some things from Him, hearken to the voice of the Lord now. There is no better way to begin a year, your resolutions and decisions can never measure up. Jesus is looking down from heaven hoping you will make the right decision. Make sure not to fail Him.
Prayer: Help me, Lord to follow you to whatever extent You desire.
