Graphic Organizer By: Thomas Tran Algebra 1 Quantities Students will be given a list of keywords and each student

t would have a word assigned to them. The students will have no say in what word they will do the assignment on, and the listing will be random. They will not only give the definition, but they will have to provide supplementary facts of the keyword, an example of keyword used in a mathematical problem, and a wrong example of the word being utilized. Below is the outline of the graphic organizer: Definition Facts

Example Name: Date: Word: Algebraic Expression Directions: Complete the four squares using the word provided above. Due: In-class activity Definition A mathematical phrase involving at least one variable and sometimes numbers and operation symbols. Facts Algebra involves variables. Without a variable, it is just a mathematical expression.

Example Solve. X+4 = 25 -4 -4 X = 21 This has at least one variable, so it is an algebraic expression.

Bad Example 5+13 = 18 There are no variables in the equation, therefore it is simply a mathematical expression.
