HYDERABAD: Inspired by a video of a two-wheeler theft on Facebook, two youngster s stole a bike in a similar manner at Langer Houz.

However, locals caught them a nd handed them over to the police. Police arrested Arun, a BTech final year student, and his friend Hemanth, a cell phone repairer from Baghlingampally. Arun, who is pursuing graduation at Karimn agar, has been staying in the city since the past few months for project work. H emanth is Arun's childhood friend. Around 20 days ago, Hemanth saw a video on Facebook about how to steal a bike by breaking the handle lock. As he was in dire need of money, Hemanth requested Ar un to help him in stealing a bike. Late on Monday night, the duo went to Pension pura area in Langer Houz and found a Pulsar bike parked at a deserted lane. "Using the technique he learnt from the video, Hemanth broke the bike's handle l ock, but failed to start it. The duo then started pushing the bike to take it to a safe place. But the owner of the bike saw them and caught them with the help of locals," Langer Houz sub-insepctor (SI) K Srikanth said. The duo was handed o ver to the police and remanded in judicial custody.
