As part of the 5th Short Course on International Health Consultancy, we are hosting a Guest Speaker Event on Core Communication Skills for International Health Consultants. Daniel Harris, Managing Director at DHA, will deliver an interactive presentation looking at the key communications skilled required for international consultants. The lively session will include: Common mistakes, Cultural gaffes, Dos and Donts, Listening, Ideal scenarios. It will draw on Daniels wealth of experience delivering communications in countries including Mozambique, Malawi, Kenya, Southern Sudan, Zimbabwe and Pakistan.

Daniel is a public sector communications professional with nearly twenty years experience at senior levels of central and local Government and the not-for-prot sector. On equalities, international development, democracy, human rights, the arts, civil society and family policy - he has helped organisations create strategies and communications that deliver real change - winning new resources, improving legislation and shaping the public discourse. He advises Governments in developing countries, creating and delivering health and education communications and was previously Special Adviser to Clare Short when she was International Development Secretary. DHA is a specialist agency providing high-level policy expertise and effective communication across the public and third sectors. DHA has a ourishing international portfolio which includes work with DfID, the British Council, Cambridge Education and LATH. Projects include shaping and supporting the communication of government health initiatives in Kenya, Sudan, Mozambique, Pakistan and Zimbabwe and communicating universal basic education in Nigeria.
