Medical Screening Guideline: When the patient is deemed to not be diagnosed as having an Emergency Medical Condition, as that phrase

is defined in law after the medical screening examination by the emergency room physician and the patient wishes to continue with the evaluation and possible treatment for his condition at the ix they are then presented with these options: !" #f they have insurance coverage, any deductible or co$ payments will be due at this time" %" #f they do not have insurance or if they are a self pay patient they must pay the hospital and physician for non$ emergency evaluation and treatment that the doctor determines is warranted at this time" &" 'here is a minimum re(uired deposit of )*++"++" 'his includes )%!+"++ for physician fees and )!,+"++ for emergency room services from the hospital" Since not all charges for services received may not be fully tabulated and totaled by the time they are discharged they may be billed by mail for these charges and payment is due upon receipt of the bill for such additional charges" #f the bill is less than the deposit, they will be mailed a refund if no prior balances are due" -" #f the patient prefers to have his or her non$emergency medical condition treated at a local area clinic, we will provide them with a list of resources including addresses and phone numbers of a few area clinics" .lease note, however, these clinics are not affiliated with ix hospital"
