ITINERARY
25 May 2014: Enjoy lunch on the race route, cheer the arrival of the riders, bike fitting & welcome dinner Guests will be met at the Milan Malpensa International Airport by their guide team on the morning of the 25th. Our planned departure time from the airport is 11am. Should you be staying at an airport hotel we will pick you up from there. If you have questions or concerns regarding your flight arrival possibilities, please don't hesitate to contact us. Wherever possible we will assist to make the necessary arrangements to assist your arrival. From the airport we will be taking you straight in to the Giro d'Italia race action! Our first stop will be for lunch on the race route itself. We will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant where you will enjoy your first Italian pizza, the chance to get to know your tour companions & the guide team. During the afternoon you will have the chance to cheer on the riders as they pass on their way to the stage finish atop Montecampione. Here you will enjoy the speed, colour & excitement of the race in what will be your first of many chances to be a part of the race action. After lunch we will head to our hotel located in the beautiful mountain region of Northern Italy. We will be sure to enjoy the closing stages of the day's stage on television as Today is a rest day for the pros. For those bringing their own bikes, our mechanics will be on-hand to assist should you require. Should time allow we will take a short ride from our hotel. Each eveing your guide team will update you on the race action plus the activities for the following day. Overnight: Ponte di Legno Live race viewing: Stage 15 - Valdengo to Montecampione the mountain top finish is set to be frenetic.

Rider program: In the morning we will take a drive to the stunning village of Bormio, located in the heart of the mountains. From here we will enjoy a warm-up ride in the valley before we enjoy one of the most beautiful climbs in the world, Passo Stelvio. The 20km ascent is a great introduction to climbing in the region, it is challenging yet very achievable for most as it has regular moments where the roads levels out before climbing again. The series of switchbacks offers incredible views back down the valley and makes it one of the world's great climbs.

the chance to descend the Northern face to the village of Prato before climbing back up to give you the chance to tick off both faces of the famous Stelvio Pass. For guests looking for a more relaxed afternoon, we will return directly back to the village of Bormio where you will have the chance to explore this beautiful medieval village of take in some time at one of the famous thermal springs that are situated nearby. Non rider program: Guests will be transferred to the village of Bormio. Bormio has been on the traditional trade routes dating back to Roman days & due to its incredible thermal springs and great skiing, a destination for the rich and famous of Italy. Here you will be welcomed to one of the oldest day spas in the world. Whilst the riders are tackling the Stelvio, you will enjoy an afternoon in ancient thermal springs, lunch and a 30 minute massage! With over 100 different treatment options, the spa will be a day to remember! Rider program: We will start out ahead of the pros from the start line in Ponte di Legno. Riding on the race route itself, we will climb to the top of the first climb, Passo Gavia, from where we will watch the race. The Gavia is a beautiful climb. At the base it is tree-lined and lush before opening out to a more lunar type terrain. With our race-accredited guides and support vehicles there with you, you will have all the support you require. We will also carry with us any extra clothing & equipment you need With the race starting in Ponte di Legno, the village will be full of action. Here you will see the preparations as the race organisers put the finishing touches on what will be one of the most important stages of the race. Overnight: Ponte di Legno Live race viewing: Rest day Ride distance: 42 or 96km 27 May 2014 Ride on the race route to the Passo Gavia, Race viewing atop Gavia, Climb the famous Mortirolo Combined program: In the evening, guests will enjoy an evening at leisure. At the summit, guests will see the intensity of the race. The first climb following a rest day is always interesting. Some riders benefit greatly whereas others suffer. As a result we are likely to see attacking racing as the riders look to make the most of the situation.

Following the passing of the race, guests will have the choice to ride back to our hotel in Ponte di Legno where you can enjoy an afternoon watching the racing live on television. Alternatively we will be offering the chance to do an extended ride. We will continue on the race route through to Bormio before following the valley to the famous climb of Mortirolo! Here guests will have the choice of climbing from Grosio or Mazzo. Both faces are challenging but Mazzo more so. It is said to be one of the toughest climbs in any Grand Tour.

ITINERARY
On the Mazzo face, you will get to see the memorial to the ever popular, Marco Pantani. On reaching the summit, we will then descend the Southern face en route to our hotel directly. Conquering the Gavia & Mortirolo is a great day for any cyclist! Non rider program: Guests will have the choice to enjoy the atmosphere of the start village or to join our riding guests to watch the race atop the Passo Gavia. In the start village you will enjoy watching the rider preparations, the carnival atmosphere of the race, plus see the riders signing in and then the race depart. The start village is always a great chance to get signatures and photos of your favourite riders. For those choosing to travel to the Passo Gavia, you will enjoy travelling in our race accredited support vehicles to the peak. Here you will be part of the action as we witness the race cross this beautiful alpine pass. Following the passing of the race we will return to Ponte di Legno to enjoy the continuation of the race and its exciting conclusion on the television. Maglia Rosa Tour - Giro dItalia After a short transfer our ride will take us on a stunning back road that skirts the mountains and will bring us to the start village of the day's stage. After a couple of big days of climbing, the undulating ride will provide a welcome relief. On arrival in Sarnonico, the group will enjoy VIP access to the start village. After our experience of the race start, we will then take to the bikes again, enjoying a beautiful (and largely downhill) ride to our afternoon destination. The valley connecting Italy and Austria is home to excellent wineries. Our ride will take us through the vineyards to our winery of choice.

In Sarnonico all guests will enjoy VIP access to the start village for the day's race. Here we will be in the heart of the action as we enjoy Italian coffee & pastries whilst welcoming the riders as they sign in for the day's racing in the VIP zone. In 2013, our guests enjoyed coffee with many riders, including Mark Cavendish, before they set out for the stage. ITINERARY
Following the race depart, we will then proceed to one of the best wineries in the region. During the afternoon guests will enjoy a tour of the cellar and tastings. The region is famous for its white wine, grown on the valley floor and also on beautiful terraces that climb the rocky hill faces. With the race finishing quite close to Trento, we will have a After our relaxed visit we will travel to our new hotel in the beautiful city of Trento. Trento has a strong history in cycling, and in 2013 was the host city of the World Amateur championships. Rider program: In the evening we will enjoy a 3 course dinner and a recap on the Giro racing of the day. Overnight: Trento Live race viewing: Sarnonico to Vittorio Veneto (204km) Ride distance: Morning ride - 32km, Afternoon ride 46km Departing by bike from our hotel, we will ride to intercept the race route at the village of Pergine Valsugana. At this point we will ride on the race route around the Lago di Caodonazzo to the final climb. From here guests will have the choice to watch the race from the village at the base or climb to the race finish and be part of the large crowd expected to cheer on the riders as they hit peaks of 14%. With only 2 combative stages left in the race for the climbers, this stage is likely to be explosive given its shorter distance and tough closing climb. Following the conclusion of racing we will enjoy the short ride back to our hotel. Non rider program: Guests will join the rider group, as we transfer to the stage route. After enjoying the crowds lining the route, we will set up base in the village of Levico Terme. This spa town 30 May 2014 Overnight: Trento Combined program: more relaxed start to the day. In the morning, we will transfer to the start village of the time trial, Bassano del Grappa. Here we will check in on the teams as they prepare. You will see the mechanics in action and many riders warming up and discussing tactics with their coaches and managers. In the evening we will enjoy dinner at our new hotel in From here, we will then transfer to the finish point of Cima Grappa. The final time trial of the race is a 26.8km uphill test that will have a massive impact on the race. Overnight: Brugnera Live race action: Bassano del Grappa - Cima Grappa ITT (26.8km) 31 May 2014 Climb the mighty Zoncolan ahead of the pros, ride across the finish line & stand atop the podium, VIP finish hospitality One of the biggest names for climbing is 'Zoncolan'. located to the North of Venice, this climb is infamous for its ability to change a race. With a 15% maximum gradient which is On arriving at the race finish point we will then enjoy an afternoon of VIP race hospitality. All guests will be invited in to the exclusive Giro Club. The hospitality zone is located on the finish line and here you will enjoy an afternoon of food, drinks and incredible live race action as we witness a critical moment in the 2014 Giro d'Italia. Combined program: On arrival at the summit, guests will have the chance to freshen up before we take you to the VIP zone at the finish line. Here guests will have the best viewing of the finish possible, plus enjoy watching the race coming live on television and food & drinks throughout the afternoon. Guests will be invited to enjoy the morning at leisure. Our hotel is located in the heart of the city in the beautiful old centre. Here you will be able to enjoy some Italian coffee or enjoy a walk to the nearby seafront. Our final tour day will be one to remember. ITINERARY
About the rides: Guests are invited to ride the length and speed that suits them individually. We structure our rides with a riding guide at the front, who goes at the pace of the faster riders and a guide at the rear who goes at the pace of the slowest rider. We will then have further guides within the group based on group numbers. In addition, our support vehicles are on the ride route with the group to assist in the situation of mechanical issues, to carry spare clothing, food, water, etc and to allow the option to shorten the ride if you wish. Bike rental: Enjoy the use of a top quality Trek Madone 5.2 or Trek Domane 5.2 with compact & 12-28 gearing for the duration of your tour. Cost: 175 On race days there may be the need to shorten the rides for some within the group depending on ride speeds in order to avoid road closures. This will be kept to a minimum however we appreciate your understanding on this should it need to take place. level of experience and fitness is suitable for the programs, please don't hesitate in contacting us to discuss. Depending on the timings of the race on the day and the varying speeds of the group, on some days we may choose to break for a coffee in a nice village we know to regroup, and on other days continue to ride through to our final destination.
