What to Do When Dog Seizures Occur

In times when your dog is hit by dog seizures, you should do the right things. One basic thing on the list is to remain calm all the time. Do not panic. Remember that your pet dog needs you at that point in time. If you are so frightened and overwhelmed of what is happening in front of you, it hinders you from thinking correctly. Also, if you scream at the top of your lungs, you may actually prolong the seizure and predispose your dog to various risks. Second, turn off all the lights, TV, and even your sound system. Too much external stimuli can cause more excitatory activities in your dogs brain leading to lengthened seizure. Also, say positive things to your dog, they may not understand you, but they can feel your comfort. Lastly, if you see signs that dog seizures will occur, administer one tablespoon of honey right away. This can help lower down the severity of the seizure. Then, hold your pet in a comforting manner.
