NTU CSA Charismatic Prayer Group

Since the beginning of Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR) in a weekend retreat of

a group of students at Duquesne University in the US in the late 1960s, millions
of individuals have discovered the new dimension of their relationship with God
the Father and the Son, Jesus Christ, through the work of the Holy Spirit. Until
today, the CCR still continues carrying out their mission in renewing the life of
the Church by the working of the Holy Spirit.

In year 2000, another group of students in Nanyang Technological University (NTU)

were gathered regularly in their meetings in praise, prayer, sharing, scriptures
and teaching. These gathering were the nuclei of the NTU Catholic Students'
Apostolate (CSA) Charismatic Prayer Group (CPG). The wind of renewal of the Spirit
within NTU CSA has been continuously blowing ever since. In May 2003, by the grace
of God, the first Life-in-the-Spirit-Camp (LISC) in CSA was held with "Living life
to the fullest" as the theme. The following years, once again the Lord led the
LISC 2004 "Giving You my life" and LISC 2005 "Yes, Lord!". The latest was LISC
2009 "Veni Sancte Spiritus!"

h2. Our Ministries

h3. Teaching Ministry

bq. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name
of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe
all that I have commanded you. (Matthew 28:19-20)

Our Teaching Ministry plays an important role in the moulding of our charismatic
community to be apostles of Christ in CSA and in the society we are living in.
Teaching ministry discerns and plans the topics for teaching session in every
prayer meeting, which include contacting the speakers and preparing the materials.
We continually seek to improve the sessions so as to make it more interactive and
faith enriching.

h3. Worship Ministry

bq. Hallelujah!
Praise God in his holy sanctuary; give praise in the mighty dome of heaven.
Give praise for his mighty deeds, praise him for his great majesty.
Give praise with blasts upon the horn, praise him with harp and lyre.
Give praise with tambourines and dance, praise him with flutes and strings.
Give praise with crashing cymbals, praise him with sounding cymbals.
Let everything that has breath give praise to the LORD!
Hallelujah!
(Psalm 150)

Our prayer meeting would not be complete without praise and worship. Worship team
coordinates the worship leaders and musicians for every meeting. Praise the Lord
that He has blessed us with very talented musicians. Those out there who long to
reveal your hidden talents, whether in worship leading, singing or playing
keyboard, guitar, tambourine or any other instrument ,you name it. come and let
the heaven rejoice as we sing our praises!!!

h3. Intercessory Prayer and Healing Ministry

bq. Therefore confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you
may be healed. The fervent prayer of a righteous person is very powerful. (James
5:16)
Healing and Intercessory ministry arranges Intercessory Prayer Groups (IPGs) who,
as the name suggests, pray with the community for their intentions. Currently
there is one IPG session every week: Saturday 730 pm. You are most welcome to join
any of the sessions and contact Jennifer or Kevin for details of the meeting
place. Prayer requests can be posted "here":.?page=petition, or you can find the
prayer intention box every CSA Wednesday mass. This ministry also organizes some
healing sessions.

h3. Befriender, Media, and Outreach

bq. All who believed were together and had all things in common. They ate their
meals with exultation and sincerity of heart, praising God and enjoying favor with
all the people. And every day the Lord added to their number those who were being
saved. (Acts 2:44,46-47)

Implied by its name, this ministry befriends and outreaches people. This ministry
also provides creative media as a way to publicize the events that will be held by
NTU CSA CPG as we really want to share and let other brothers and sisters in
Christ encounter God's love together with us.

h3. Logistic Ministry

bq. And whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were
working for the Lord and not for people. (Colossians 3:23)

These are people who always come much earlier as they prepare the room: arranging
the chairs, setting up the sound system for every prayer meeting session. Those
with big muscles, or not-so-big muscles but a very willing heart, you are most
welcome!
