INTRODUCTION TO REMEDY AND ENRICHMENT ACTIVITY

Based on task 2, we agreed to choose short story as our material adaptation. We planned this activity to teach tenses which is simple present tense and past tense. Unfortunately, our authentic material is written mostly in past tense. So, we decided to do some changes. We change from the sentence word into dialogue so that we can have present tenses. Furthermore, this material adaptation will be used for remedy and enrichment students, because of that, we have to consider all the students ability so that this material can be used for both students. Our activity will be applied to Year 4 students. We choose topic tenses which are more focus on present tense and past tense. Because of that we choose different activity for remedy and enrichment. For remedy activities, we planned a word search game for them. For word search activity, the student will be given clues. If the answer is a past tense, then the clue must be in present tense. It is because, we want the student get the understanding on present tense and also past tense. Furthermore, the student will be given a short story. The short story is already be adapted by changing some lines to a dialogue and also students need to fill in the blanks by searching the answer inside the word search puzzles. For enrichment activity which is crossword puzzle. Enrichment activity for students that is already get the lesson well. So, the teacher needs to enhance their understanding at higher level. The student will be given a first letter of the word as a clue. Besides that, they also can get the clue based on the short story that they have to fill the blank. We want the student know the tenses based on the sentence given.
