This book contained useful information about the dangers of living in Centralia and the struggles the people of Centralia had to deal with in order to survive. It also provided photographs taken by DeKok of the citizens and the town of Centralia after the mine fire in 1962. Jacobs, Rene. Slow Burn: A Photodocument of Centralia, Pennsylvania. University Park, PA: Pennsylvania State Univ., 2010. Print. This book is by Renee Jacobs who tells her story of what it was like to live and experience the underground mine fires of Centralia.
