The Picture of Dorian Gray

In my opinion it is a good book, we provided a bit of the last century in England, the central theme talks about the obsession by the youth, regardless of the consequences. In secondary issues, we talk about homosexuality, and that makes me interesting because at that time it was a difficult issue to deal (in this case is the high esteem and affection that has Basil by Dorian). The men of high society, where the characters spend their leisure time smoking and drinking tea, while talking about topics.

You can say that it all starts with Basil paints the portrait of Dorian Gray, which expresses his desire to be exchanged for the portrait and not to age well and remain beautiful and your wish comes true and only dedicated to the pleasures of life, which results in the death of Basil. It is a book that mixes reality with fantasy. Dorian at first shows traits of shyness, but in the end it is a despicable person, this is mainly due to the influence of Lord Henry, Dorian who always agree. But when Dorian realizes that it will not always be beautiful and young, shows the dark side in all of us, and many are transformed, to keep what they most want and necessity to feel comfortable with ourselves. We start to think about how vulnerable people are when they are manipulated (in this case does everything Dorian Lord tells Henrry). In my opinion, what I did not like the book is that as it is very descriptive in parts I was bored. In conclusion, I liked it, it makes us appreciate what we have and enjoy this without comparing it to the past and without fear for the future.
