Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) is the first University in Penang. It was built around 1969. USM is located in strategic location with various facilities. The USM approximately about 239.4 hectares and can accommodate around 30,000 students. There are three entrances to the university. It is surrounded by green trees and have a good scenery for eyes. The main facility for students is the accommodation. Almost 80% of USM students are provided with accommodation. There are 8 type of the hostels respectively named Desa Siswa Aman Damai, Bakti Permai, Cahaya Gemilang, Fajar Harapan, Indah Kembara, Restu, Saujana and Tekun. Each room can accommodate 2 students. The hostel are equipped with cafeteria, restrooms and lounge completed with television, pantry, prayers room, Operations Room and Meeting Room for the students. Furthermore, it also provided the place to park, telephone facilities, and machine to reload to-pup. In addition, there are bus services provided in campus to assist students to move from one place to the other places in the USM. Bus stops in campus were also built to protect students safety while waiting for the bus. Those who wants to go out, they may do so, by using the public bus services outside the campus as that they can reach the place easily. Students can also seek the services of CIMB Bank and Pos Malaysia located in the USM itself. They also can purchase books at the book store, and they can borrow books in the library which located nearby Tun Syed Putera Hall. For the staff convenience, there is a nursery was built and mosque to pray for Muslims. Pusat Sejahtera is also available to provide treatment health facilities for staff and students. In conclusion, USM is successfully built fulfill the students need by providing the best facilities. In order to ensure students are comfortable with learning environment which are quiet, peace, cool, clean, and beautiful. It is also has a good quality of education system.
