Da nase / Praise to God the Father

(From Hymn #605 in Glory to God, 2013 Hymnal of the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A.)

December 2013 Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Peace be unto you. We bring you greetings from Westminster Presbyterian Church in Albany, New York. For our Christmas message, we want to tell you how our partnership with you has made it possible to share a Ghanaian praise song with Presbyterians in the entire country. The new Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) hymnal, Glory to God, includes both Twi and English words for Da nase, a song taught to us at Westminster by the Rev. Alice Kyei-Anti. We received the printed music from the Presbyterian Church of Ghana via the uncle of a Westminster member born in Ghana. In our Sunday worship services, we regularly sing Danase in both Twi and English. Our organist, Alfred Fedak, introduced Danase to the hymnal committee and saw that it was included. The English words shown on this card were written by Mr. Fedak. Another version of Da nase also appears in the new hymnal as Hymn #328 under the title Praise God, All Ye Nations (Psalm 117). Mr. Fedak hopes that both will be widely sung. May God richly bless you during 2014 as you have blessed us and Presbyterians throughout the country by sharing your dynamic song of praise.
