Evaluation of Flycam lesson

In this lesson we learned several things about a flycam 5000; to start the lesson we were taught how to set up the flycam through a YouTube tutorial:

This video explained the following steps: Screw central post onto the base platform Place head assembly on top, screw with alan key Place camera on the head assembly (in centre) Make sure camera is ready for filming and then tighten so camera is fixed in place. Adjust weights on the bas platform so that it takes the flycam around 2 seconds to fall 90 degrees.

This is useful for when we use our flycam we borrowed from the school in order to film our own project- we have a flycam 5000 so that it is easier to film low angle and tracking shots, we are likely to include quite a few of these. Once we had the camera ready and set up we went outside to film some test shots. These shots were a recreation of a flycam test shot video: Mid-shot, tracking Close-up, low angle Over-the-shoulder Mid-shot, eye line

Long-shot from a side angle

We edited all of these together into a short clip that we uploaded to YouTube and our blog. This gave us further experience with editing but mainly so that we know how to film with the flycam and how to create these shots.
