Toasternista

Innovation is the application of better solutions that meet new requirements. On 12th December 2013, I had a chance to attend an Innovation Fair at Perpustakaan Tun Dr. Ismail 1, UiTM Segamat. While at the Innovation Fair, As I look around and examine the creative and innovative ideas that were showcased. I particularly took a liking to Toasternista, a toaster hybrid which can toast bread, boil eggs and cook hotdogs at the same time. The idea was presented by a group led by Faryza Adzwa Bt. Ab Rahman, 2012443968. I took the opportunity to interview her about her idea and how it came to be. The idea of Toasternista came when Faryzas group researched about the lifestyle in Ireland. Traditional Irish people lead a healthy lifestyle by consuming a nutritious breakfast every day without fail. A nutritious breakfast would consist of hotdogs, half boiled eggs and the most importantly, bread. A breakfast like this would definitely give them the energy to lead their lives in the cold weather of Ireland. However, due to modernisation, they simply doesnt have the time to cook a fully nutritious breakfast to start their busy day. From this piece of information, Faryza came up with the idea of Toasternista, a toaster hybrid that can toast bread, boil eggs and cook hotdogs simultaneously. I also did not want to miss the chance to ask her about her time management, how she juggled time between other assignments, presentations and the project. Faryzas secret to managing enough time for all her assignments is to get an early start to each and every project. As soon as possible, Faryza would brainstorm for ideas and divide the work between group members. Every so often, she would check up on the other members to make sure the work is done and help them if they have problems. I feel privileged to be able to interview Faryza about Toasternista and her secret to time management. After this, I shouldnt have any problem with running out of time when dealing with assignments.
