In January 2014, the UN Emergency Relief Coordinator allocated US$86 million from the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) to sustain emergency aid operations in some of the worlds worst, yet most neglected crises. The funding from CERFs underfunded emergencies (UFE) window will ensure life-saving relief work continues in Chad, Colombia, the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea, Djibouti, Haiti, Mali, Myanmar, Sudan, Uganda and Yemen. This is the first of two UFE rounds planned for 2014. CERF has allocated $1.16 billion in underfunded emergency grants since the establishment of the Fund in 2006.
