Lisa Lings first job was with Channel One News as an anchor and journalist when at age 18 She later went to The View from 1999-2002

Came to National Geographic Explorer in 2005 Covered Colombian Drug War Covered life in U.S. prisons Went with a medical team to North Korea in 2007made National Geographic documentary Inside North Korea Later became correspondent for Oprah Winfrey Show in 2007 Reported on bride burning in India, gang rape in Congo, LRA in Uganda, child trafficking in Ghana, and hurricane Katrina aftermath in New Orleans

Received an award for her CNN documentary Planet in Peril in 2008 Later went to OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) and had her own program called Our America with Lisa Ling

Work
Most notable work was her North Korea documentary- gave insight on such a secretive country

One of her other notable works was the two Planet in Peril: Battle Lines, a documentary she made with Anderson Cooper, Sanjay Gupta, and Jeff Corving Ling reported on the illegal fishing of sharks
