Types and components of aluminium windows

Aluminium windows, being subject to wear and tear, can deteriorate over time. If not properly used or maintained, they may dislodge and cause serious consequences leading to personal injury and property damage. In Hong Kong, most cases of falling window involve aluminium casement windows.

Common types
Generally in Hong Kong, there are two main types of aluminium windows casement and fixed windows. Casement window
Top-hung casement

A window, or part of window, which opens on hinges, pivots or friction stays. They can be top-hung or side-hung, depending on the axle of opening.

Side-hung casement

Fixed window A window with fixed panel and have no openable sash.
