Call to Order: -Debbie G welcomed the group to the meeting and called the meeting to order. Debbie acknowledged the passing of Kathy Gregg who was a member of Health and Welfare Council for many years. Welcome and Introductions: -Everyone went around the room to introduce themselves. Score and Career Link Score


-Volunteers counsel small businesses both profit and nonprofit for no charge. They arent a lender or grant funder. They can help target problem areas in the business. More information can be found at score.org.

-They are collaborating with many community partners. They help job seekers with job readiness skills as well as finding a job and they work with employers on job postings and trainings for their employees. More information can be found at pacareerlink.state.pa.us Business Meeting Review/Approval of Minutes: -Maria made a motion to accept the minutes and Lori seconded it.

Correspondence
There were no correspondences received. Review of Treasurers Report: - Machel reported that the PCCD grant money that came through Health and Welfare Council for Blair County Drug and Alcohol had to return $12,870 to the state because Medicaid paid for the treatment expense. Since the grant is closed, the money cant be used for something else. -The ending balance is $1,195.00 which includes $220 from membership dues. -Jean Johnstone made a motion to accept the treasurers report and Dee seconded it. Committee Reports Executive Committee: -Debbie reported that the committee is working on membership numbers by contacting lapsed members and potential members. Grants Presentation: -Dee reported that $1500 was granted to 3 organizations and they will get their checks today. Marketing: - Sharon just reminded the grant recipients that she will be taking pictures after the meeting to submit to the Altoona Mirror. Membership: -Michelle reported that there are currently 49 paid members. Health Community Partnership: -Donna reported that needs assessment group is working with the hospitals on the needs assessment. There is still nothing to report from the state.

Updates
Blair County Human Service Office: -Cathy Crum reported that 211 will be available soon for an introductory period for agencies to take a look at and make sure their information is included and correct. It will eventually be available through the web too. -The group discussed the need for faith based organizations to submit their information to 211. A form will be sent out through Health and Welfare Council to pass onto any faith based organizations that you come in contact with. Blair County CAO: -Bob Smith passed around 3rd and 4th quarter statistics on their programs. He went over information on resource limitations for SNAP, medical assistance will automatically close if they dont do recertification, and LIHEAP is running slow on processing applications due to volume. United Way: -Robin reported that Impact grant applications are due March 16th, the annual campaign is at 78%, and the needs assessment is ongoing. Quick Agency Updates: -Various people spoke about events occurring in their organization. Adjornment: -Debbie adjourned the meeting.
