Associate Professor Richard Tucker Deakin University

A detailed book proposal on Teaching Teamwork in Design, including a full outline and a sample chapter, was prepared and submitted to five prospective publishers. A project Team Workshop was held in November. The project team and Reference Group members reviewed the Book Proposal and discussed the experiences of refined pilot units/case studies. A workshop on Assessing Teamwork was held as a part of Deakin Learning Conference, and focused on: (1) fair assessment, and (2) the need to assess both product and process of teamwork. A National Survey of Teamwork & Groupwork Teaching & Assessment Survey was made available to design educators in Australian Higher Education institutions. The teacher survey was designed to mirror the student survey so that direct comparisons could be made. Data from the two National Surveys was analysed and a report of initial findings was developed. The first draft of OLT Final Report was prepared and reviewed by the project team. Feedback and comments will be integrated into the final draft of the report in January 2014.
