MODAL AUXILIARIES VERBS

WHAT ARE MODAL AUXILIARIES?


Modal auxiliaries are verbs that are used before ordinary verbs to express different meaning such as permission, possibility, ability, necessity, certainty, obligation, etc. Example of modal auxiliaries are will, would, shall, should, may, might, can, could, must, ought, need.

HOW DO WE USE MODAL AUXILIARIES?

They cant stand alone in a sentence so it is always followed by the base form of the main verb (without to) S
