Caf au Lait Tam

I came up with this pattern so Id have a hat to match Caf au Lait Mittens. The pattern is easy to work without being boring and knits up quickly.

Materials Yarn 150 yards of DK weight yarn. I used Cleckheaton Country 8 Ply, 100% wool, 105 yds/96m per 50 gr. Needles 4mm - 16 circ 4.5mm - 16 circ 4.5mm DPNs Stitch markers - 1 to mark beginning of round, more to mark repeats (optional) Gauge 22 sts = 4" on 4mm in stocing st / 18 sts = 4.5" in pattern on 4.5mm after blocking Hat With the 4mm needle, CO 108 sts; join and place marker. Work twisted rib (k1through back loop, p1) around for 8 rnds. Change to the 4.5mm circular needle and work the Caf au Lait pattern 18 times per round for a total of 40 rnds. Remove marker and slip the last st of rnd 40 to the left needle tip, place marker and return the slipped st to the right needle tip. Work the Crown Decrease Chart 9 times per round. Cut yarn and weave through the remaining 9 sts.
