Directions for Packet:

1. Go though and highlight each song for positive/ negative self talk. a. To do this you will need to highlight phrases in each song for either negative/positive self talk (songs can have both highlight with different colors for each and identify if it is positive or negative) 2. On a sheet of notebook paper answer the following questions for each of the songs a. What does the artist want you to get from the song? b. What impact is left in the audience members minds after hearing the song? c. Identify a line from each song that you could pick out to add to your positive self talk. 3. Now pick out your favorite song that displays self talk. Write out your favorite part of the lyrics (at least 5 lines) and explain why it is important to you and how the song has impacted you.(Should be a paragraph) Explain your experience with positive AND negative self talk so far, what impact has it had on you? How will you improve it? (Should be a paragraph) How do you feel that positive self talk can improve your life?
