BROOKLYN BRIDGE
Brooklyn Bridge works by letting one machine have access to anothers drives. The machine that will be accessed is called the Slave. The machine that you will be using is called the Master.
First, run the program BRIDGEL1 or BRIDGEL2 on the slave machine (depending on whether the Brooklyn bridge cable is hooked up to LPT1 or LPT2).
Then on the Master, add the BRIDGEL1.DEV or BRIDGEL2.DEV device driver to the config.sys (depending on LPT1 or LPT2). On the next line, add the remote.dev device driver followed by the number 2.
Example: Device=c:\bridge\bridgel1.dev Device=c:\bridge\remote.dev 2 When you reboot the master, it will have attached the slaves drives. If both the master and slave computers had drives a,b,c,d you can now access the slaves drives on the master as e,f,g,h. To copy the entire hard drive from the slave to the master, you can type XCOPY G:\ C:\/S, or use whatever other method you prefer such as X-Tree. If you are having trouble getting the connection, you can run the program PORTTEST on both machines, and it will check the cable and parallel ports.
