What is lyrical poem?


Lyrical poem a short poem of songlike quality. A poem that expresses the thoughts and feelings of the poet. Lyric poems can be a meditation on the poet's or poetic persona's life and observations about the world, or a celebration of events such as the passage of seasons. Lyric poetry is found in numerous poetic traditions, both past and present.

Homework! Oh, Homework! I hate you! You stink! I wish I could wash you away in the sink, if only a bomb would explode you to bits. Homework! Oh, homework! You're giving me fits.

I'd rather take baths with a man-eating shark, or wrestle a lion alone in the dark, eat spinach and liver, pet ten porcupines, than tackle the homework, my teacher assigns.

Homework! Oh, homework! you're last on my list, I simply can't see why you even exist, if you just disappeared it would tickle me pink. Homework! Oh, homework! I hate you! You stink!

How the samples would help to generate language learning among children?

Lyrical poems are interesting and fun to learn. They are relatable to childrens life (everyday routine. Children can connect, reflect and relate their life to the poem. For example: Most children do not like homework given by teachers. They can find the similarities of their condition with the poem. Indirectly, children will learn new vocabulary and pronunciation.
