After

the British won the 7 years war in North America they were left in dept.
so they created the stamp act on British colonists. The stamp act entitled that since
we gave you this land in America so you should give us money, this act also raised
taxes. The colonists werent happy about this because they didnt deg a fair share in
the decision-making. And they were mad about all the British troops in the colonies,
even after the seven years war ended. After many years of complaining they
abolished the stamp act. Later the townsman act was placed, and this just created
more protests, some turning into more violent protests like the Boston massacre in
1770. The main purpose of the American Revolution was to abolish the ruling of a
king and switch to a government. The way that the American Revolution happened
was with the famous declaration of independence.

African slaves were prominent at this time, almost every property
owner had slaves. These slaves made up %30 of the population. In the declaration of
independence it stated that all men are equal, but the African slaves werent equal.
The only people allowed to vote were white men how owned property, witch only
made up about %10 of the people so independence was mainly white guys with
property wanting more power. What mostly changed about America was more
freedom later on. When the US actually became the Untied States each state created
their own rights. Every state gave women more freedom by allowing daughters and
widows to inherit and own property. Americans became to view themselves as
equal to each other. Another thing that was revolutionary about the American
Revolution was that people were given religious freedom, witch at that time was
very revolutionary. The American revolution changed the way Americans live their
everyday lives.
