Nokia Siemens Networks SRA 4TM Microwave Radio -synchronous radio for split applications

Nokia Siemens Networks SRA 4TM is a product joining high capacity and high bandwidth efficiency into a single radio platform available in a range of frequency from 6 to 38 GHz. SRA 4 offers a compact, easy-to-deploy and cost-effective broadband wireless solution supporting high speed data, video and voice communication in Wide Area Networks, Metropolitan Area Networks and Corporate/Campus interconnections.
Nokia Siemens Networks SRA 4TM is the ideal choice for building fixed or access networks with a total wireless approach or also, thanks to its different baseband interfaces, with an easily combination with any existing cable systems. With its simple split-mount solution bringing up to 4xSTM-1 capacity, it represents a cheap, easy-to-deploy and highly reliable point to point transmission system. SRA 4 is suitable for both business and residential use in urban or remote areas, helping to find the best solution for any local conditions, with its multiple wireless applications. Customer benefits The particular system concept privileges two fundamental issues for any operator: flexibility and scalability. SRA 4 can be settled up for a gradual deployment since, as the penetration rate rises up, the transported capacity can be increased remotely and completely via software. It supports also high-speed Internet access and integrated data, as well as video and voice services. The system allows considerable saving of spectrum in a given geographical area as well as entail cost saving in the license fees due to completely software selectable modulation format from 32 TCM to 128 TCM and payload upgrading from STM-1 to 2xSTM-1 per carrier. Moreover the Operating Frequency channel can be adjusted completely via SW (LinkViewer LCT/ NetViewer NMS) inside the entire half band. System overview Based on plug and play concept, SRA 4 equipment can either be used as a SDH (from STM-1/ 2xSTM-1 up to 4xSTM-1) radio in Access networks or aggregating lower rate traffic provides for more efficient provisioning into wired and wireless networks (from 21 E1 up to 42 E1). The Nokia Siemens Network SDH Split Radio Systems is available in a range of frequency from 6 to 38 GHz. Using a single hardware, SRA 4 can immediately ensure up to 4xSTM-1 active bearers for building up rings with STM4 equivalent capacity. SRA 4 ADM Built in provides up to 42xE1 tributary interfaces performing multiplexing, line protection and cross connection. Base Band ADM Modem card, collect customer traffic and pass them via common back plane to the West and or East site. The System eliminates cost, rack space, and management complexity by integrating multiple transport and internetworking functions into a compact, modular platform. The Gigabit Ethernet base band modem is developed in order to carry a Gigabit Ethernet interface and three Fast Ethernet interfaces over the available capacity (1xSTM-1 or 2xSTM-1). The overall Ethernet capacity is dynamically allocated between the four interfaces and mapped over the available capacity (1xSTM-1 or 2xSTM-1). Adding 21xE1 ADM card in the SRA 4 Gigabit appliance the system provides broadband connections of mixed traffic, telephony and data (Video, Internet) to remote locations for Mobile Network Operators.

Advanced features:
The following strength points are fulfilled by SRA 4: Broadest frequency coverage: 6/ 7/ 8/ 10/11/ 13/ 15/ 18/ 23/ 26/ 28/ 32/38GHz Ease upgradeable capacity completely selectable via software 1x to 2 x STM-1 High spectrum efficiency getting same capacity within half band ATPC: saves the power consumption and reduces interference (15dB variable) N+1 Configuration with embedded protection switching Protected Co-channel configurations: HSBY and FD 2X (1+1) co-channel system type Dual polarization co-channel transmission can be achieved with a fully digital cross polarization interference canceller (XPIC) SRA 4 ADM can offer to the service provider a versatile protection scheme including SNCP for both ring and linear Network topology Ethernet over SONET/SDH by combining GFP, VCAT and LCAS provides improved bandwidth efficiently for data transport Wide band tunability for maintenance optimization.
