Introduction I am writing a report to describe the experience had while being an assistant at the Walton Activity Centre, including both difficulties and high points of the time spent there.

What is to expect As the notice for the activity centre specifies, there should have been hours of horse riding, canoeing and climbing. Also, combining pleasure with work, the lakeside location provides an amazing sightseeing, while dealing with the shared accommodation which can be a good thing because we made new friends.

Dealing with the unexpected On monday, I must say that the journey did not reach my expectations and it turned out to be a disappointment. The centre seems to be a long way from anywhere, so the beautiful sightseeing compensates the incapacity of getting easily to shops, venues or anything that would come in handy at times. Another negative aspect was the incredibly noisy children who seemed to have made plans not to waste any second sleeping. It was very tiring. In addition to that, I also had to many children to supervise and considering their energy, taking care of them really exhausted me.

Positive aspects I had plenty of incredible and unforgivable memories from when I took the

children riding and canoeing. We spent the whole day outside and had the time to know and enjoy each other. Only on the last day we had more peace and quiet and took it easier. I noticed that the group were good fun and we had an amazing time together, despite everything else. Must I recognise, my English has improved considerably because I had the chance to practise it more.

Conclusion On the whole, it would be fair to conclude it was a work experience with good and bad aspects, but which turned out to be a success. It is a chance to feel great, do some sightseeing, know other people and improve your English skills, therefore I strongly recommend it to others.
