Loleng was very afraid then when she asks the Don why he was not married to someone even though he was very rich and the hacienda was successful all throughout the years under his management. She was late to realize that it was a terrible mistake to ask his landlord about this

personal matter. The old man give an angry face and make Loleng start praying Hail Mary on her own. But something happens or an angel just passes by, the hot-headed Don suddenly gives a faint smile to the young Loleng. Amazing, right? He replied in low tone and said that he chooses to accomplish his dreams over love. He added that he left Aurora, her one and only love, to try his fortune in the shipping ports of Spain. When he returned here in the Philippines years later, Aurora is already married to other man. Loleng start understanding Don Lorencio and try to console him. The Don continues and said sincerely to Loleng that the winds of our life cant be controlled but at least the sail could be. And thats what he has done. Instead ruining his life with alcohol and other vices he bought a Hacienda and focuses his life on it. He became very busy in propagating the business and never find love again. Can you imagine that this old man that is always angry all the time got a sad story. And after that night, Loleng always visits the Don as if she was a grandchild of the Don. I think it was Loleng that makes the Don less hot-headed. Loleng learn a lot from the old man about life and running businesses. And now look at her, she was inheriting the whole Hacienda and continue what the Don has loved all his life.
