Cirrus Cumulus Stratus

Cirrus
Very high in the atmosphere Thin, wispy Have ice crystals Signal and predict that a storm is coming

Cumulus
Middle of atmosphere Large, puffy, like cotton balls In summer, we see Cumulonimbus clouds.
Cumulonimbus clouds are huge, dark thunderstorm clouds.

Signal fair or good weather (but not the cumulonimbus)

Stratus
Low in the atmosphere Gray, long, foggy-looking These clouds are usually ones that bring our precipitation (especially snow)
