Ames Memory
A memory that I admire the most at the time I was in AMES Academy would have to be when we did the Rocket lab in Mr. Hendricks class this year. It was truly memorable because it re uired a lot o! hard work and !ocus" but" in the end we were rewarded with the chance to launch our own set o! rockets which I thou#ht was awesome$ %he work we did be!ore was a hu#e challen#e& concentration was a ma'or !actor i! we were #oin# to #et this lab done and ri#ht. (irst" Mr. Hendricks had broken u) the lab into se)arate lab se#ments so that it would hel) us understand di!!erent )ieces and )rocesses more than i! we were to 'ust do one bi# lab. *e had to !ind out what kind o! en#ine the rocket would use and how hi#h each one would #o" or how much air resistance we would be !acin# while in !li#ht" or how to be able to measure the hei#ht each rocket would #o. A!ter we had #ained knowled#e on those se)arate )arts o! the labs we had to )ut our )redictions to the test and see i! we were able to !i#ure out how hi#h the rockets would #o which a )retty cool e+)erience was bein# able to watch rockets bein# launched !or my very !irst time. %hen a!ter the launch came the hard )art& )uttin# to#ether everythin# and makin# a hu#e lab re)ort about it. Makin# the lab re)ort was really di!!icult and lon#" mainly because it was 'ust lon# but a!ter we had !inished we were able to make rockets and launch them ourselves which was really !un. I chose this memory because it was one o! the most di!!icult but interestin# thin#s I,ve ever done throu#hout my school years. It really tau#ht me a lot showin# me that with #reat e!!ort" comes #reat rewards" so it really ins)ired to do my best in everythin# I do and not to #ive u).
