INTERNAL REASONS
Scope of Improving CCR.
Feed the Dial Tone in Time. Feed Proper Announcement. Check the various Call Processing Parameters. Check the Resource Allocation. Provide Adequate Trunk Circuits. Routine Testing of CM & BM Hardware. Data Check to Avoid No-answer.

SOLUTION TO SWITCH(INTERNAL) REASON

Dial Tone Delay & No- Dial Tone. All subs. Should be of DTMF(PSTN+AN) and instrument should be modified for Tone Working. All Line BM,RBM & VU-BM should be equipped 4MFC cards and all ports are configured as DTMF. Routine testing of MFC cards using tst-srv:301 using calendar. Feed Proper Announcement at Appropriate Time. Announcement card should be equipped & inservice in all BMs. Proper OG-barring, Feature Invocation announcement. Q-annc in case of busy subs. if assigned calledcalled-callcallwaiting . Do wide publicity to popularize call-waiting facilities. C-DOT Proprietary

SOLUTION TO SWITCH(INTERNAL) REASON (CONTD.)

Check Call Processing.
For effective call check the following System Parameters.

ROUTING: Minimum digits required for processing route call in open-number scheme. It should be 6. MIN-SUBS-DIAL: Minimum digits required for processing local call. DNA-TMR: This parameter is effective for Diversion on No-Reply. It should be 280. Resource Allocation. In Line BM/RBM/VU-BM all 4MFCs should be created as DTMF. In Trunk BM equip all 4 MFCs as MF-SENDR/MF-RCVR for MOD-R2 Calls. C-DOT Proprietary

H:\MAX\LECTURE\CCRIMPROVEMENT

SOLUTION TO SWITCH(INTERNAL) REASON (CONTD.)

Providing Adequate Trunk Circuits. Sufficient junction should be provided towards TAX/Parent Exchg. as the call should not fail due to Nonavailability of Trunks. For the improvement of ORG-OG traffic efficiency, test DTS/DTCs on routine basis. TUC should be interchanged & Tested regularly. Other than 2_2_(7.7)_6 s/w rel., 21st slot/4th TU should not be equipped.

H:\MAX\LECTURE\CCRIMPROVEMENT

SOLUTION TO SWITCH(INTERNAL) REASON (CONTD.)

Check of CM & BM Hardware. Routine Testing CM Hardware (BUS Wise & Plane Wise) to avoid one way speech and cross-talk related problem. Testing of TIC/SPC cards on routine basis using the cmdfile.

Data Check for Avoiding No -Answer Case.

Check System Parameters to reduce No-Answer Case. For Exchange Type :2(Working as Local Exchg.)

For Exchange Type :4(Working as TAX/ILT)

Threshold Parameters
Threshold % should be Calculated for CCS#7 and V5.2 based on the number of : FOR CCS#7 DATA (Applicable to Complete System) No. of DATA Links (NO7-THR). No. of BMs having #7 TGPs (INT-THR). FOR VUBM DATA (Applicable per VU BM basis) No. of Terminal for Internal Comm. (VU-INT-THR) No. of Links for VU Interface (V5-THR)

Different Numbering Scheme

OPEN Numbering Scheme The open numbering scheme is followed in the stages of the network where the exchange either routes the call to a TANDEM/TAX and not aware of the details of numbering scheme/number length of the destination. CLOSE Numbering Scheme The closed numbering scheme is followed in the stages of the network where the exchange either terminates the call or routes the call directly to a terminating exchange and is aware of the details of numbering scheme/number length of the destination.

TYPE OF TAXs
Leading TAX
First

TAX in the Network has to Function as a Leading

TAX.

Transit TAX
This

is doing only Transiting Function and no TAX business. It passes all the digits.

Terminating TAX
Absorbs

Area Code and sends exchange digits to the Terminating Exchange using appropriate Rank Of Digit.

PROGRAMING OF TGPs
ALL THE I/C TRK GROUPS FROM TAX OR ILT SHOULD BE PROGRAMMED AS TTAX WITH THE UNIQUE 'TGP-CAT' OTHER THAN '1' AND NOT ALLOCATED TO ANY OTHER TGP. ALL THE I/C TGPs FROM THE PARENTED EXCHANGES (IN TAX) SHOULD BE DEFINED AS 'ORD'.

PROPER CHARGE RATE NUMBER FOR I/C CALLS FROM OTHER TAXs FOR WHICH OUR TAX IS NOT A LEADING TAX CRG-RTN (=4) WITH CHARGE MODE = NO-MET METERING INFO = METERED/ANS-XP/NRM-RNG

NO CHARGE BAND SHOULD BE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS CRG-RTN

SUBS. PRIORITY
Subscriber Priority (SUB-PRI)
This Parameter is used for assigning preference to Subscriber LINES. Priority 1 to 8 assigned by CRP Command Priority 9 to 14 assigned by the system

PRIORITY ROUTING
In MF-R2 Signalling
Subs Priority 2 to 6 is send as Priority Subs. In Terminating Exchange if Priority 2 is not allowed in TGP-Choice field then call will fail. If Priority 13 is not allowed TO calls from the Network will fail. In case of Subs Priority 9,10&12 Local Incoming TGP-PRI data takes precedence at Transit Exch.

H:\MAX\LECTURE\CCRIMPROVEMENT 20

PRIORITY ROUTING
In CCS#7 Signalling
Except Trunk Operator & Ordinary Calling Subs, all other Priority Subs in the Transit Network Selection are Treated as Priority=1 for the purpose of Outgoing Trunk Selection irrespective of Incoming TGP Priority.

SUGGESTION
Always create Two or Three smaller size TGPs with TENs from Two/Three BMs. TGP choice in rotating order for different route codes and for different priorities. (Advantage: Processor Load & Trunk Selection Time will Decrease considerably) For Non-Metered Special Service routes, Non-Metered type CRG-RTN should be given instead of PRD-TAX. End-to-End MF Signalling can be adopted, wherever possible. Use proper TGP-TYPE and EXCH-TYPE.
