My poster font-

The font that I have chosen to use for my poster is True Lies by Johnathan S. Harris as featured on the website http://www.dafont.com/. It is found on the website in the Horror category based on the fonts look.

Reasons why I have chosen this font: Colour- http://www.dafont.com/ is useful as you can edit the colour of your chosen font. The colour I have chosen is red, as red symbolises blood, violence, and hurt, it also a form of juxtaposition as red can symbolise love. Handwritten Effect- The font looks as if it is handwritten, and this means that the audience can relate to it, more than font which is heavily edited and perfectly computerised. If the audience can relate to the movie it means that they are more inclined to watch it, as this relates to Maslows Hierarchy Of Needs. Under the safety section, if you can see a part of yourself in the movie you feel safer as such. So I use this as juxtaposition as the handwriting should make the audience feel uncomfortable, as they can familiarise themselves with the characters doom in the film. Capital Letters- The font is written completely in capital letters, with no option for the letters to be in lower case. Capital letters stand out, and this is what you want for a poster, as you want your poster to look most appealing when compared to others. The Bold Nature- Another reason I chose this font is that the font is in bold, without looking edited too much. For similar reasons to the use of capital letters I like this about the font, as it allows it to stand out, and make the image almost have a 3D Effect as it stands out completely, this increases the posters verisimilitude and makes it look more realistic and human like as such.
