Answer Follow the steps given below to create a Group Company: Start Tally.ERP 9 Load the companies to be consolidated, i.e., press F1 or click on F1:Select Company, select Company1 (Eg. ABC Co.), and then select another company by pressing F1 or by clicking on F1:Select Company and select Company2 (Eg. XYZ Company). You can select required number of companies that need to be consolidated/ merged using the F1: Select Company option. The List of Selected Companies will display both the companies selected, as shown below:

Press Alt+F3 or click on F3: Cmp Info from the Gateway of Tally and then select Create Group Company The group Company Creation screen appears as shown below:

 Furnish the following details in the fields as shown below: o Name: Type the Name of the Group Company (Eg. ABC-XYZ Group Company) o Mailing Name: Type the Mailing Name of the Group Company (it takes the name typed in the Name field, by default) o Address: Type the Address of the Group Company o Email: Type the Email ID of the Group Company o Members: The list of companies selected will be listed as shown below. Select the companies. o Save the Company Creation screen by confirming to Accept? Yes or No A Group Company (ABC-XYZ Group Company) gets created, as shown below:

Next time when you load Tally.ERP 9 and press Select Company to select the companies, the Group Company created will also be listed.

The Group Company will automatically load the member companies. Note: The base currency of the member companies should have the same symbol and formal name. Ensure that the Profit and Loss a/c ledger in all the member companies has the same nomenclature, avoid creating a new ledger for the same. It is suggested the default ledger provided by Tally be used for the Profit and Loss a/c.
