Dear Enforcement Officer: The January 2014 Periodic Summary Report filed by the ERIE COUNTY DEMOCRATIC COMMITTEE (C21125, 671 Seneca St., Buffalo, NY 14210) shows a closing balance of negative $12,549.38. It is my understanding that these periodic reports of income received and expenditures made cannot have negative balances. As the reports are on a cash (not accrual) basis, a negative balance would therefore indicate the expenditure of money which does not exist. It is likely that this discrepancy is due to a computational error or a failure to report financial data properly. I hereby request the Board to investigate this situation and require the filing of a complete and accurate report.
