Both numbers near 100 (type 1)

Suppose we need to multiply two numbers: X and Y. This trick is applicable only when following condition is true:-

Condition:
1. Both number X and Y are close to 100 and above 100.

Short trick used:

D1 = X 100 and D2 = Y 100 Then product of X and Y can be obtained using following trick:

X+D2|D1*D2 OR Y+D1|D1*D2

Example 1
Lets multiply 103 and104. Here both 103 and 104 are close to 100 and above 100. Therefore D1 = 103 - 100 and D2 = 104 - 100 therefore D1 = 3 and D2 = 4 Solution: product of X and Y will be: X + D2|D1*D2 =103 + 4|3*4 =107|12 =10712
