This is the central Theme in this surah( Safet# a!ainst fear ,min khawf- - this is &ro en throu!h surah 'eel( .mar woul% recite this surah in Ma!hrib &ra#er$ an% in the firstraka/ak he woul% recite surah at-Teen( 0n the secon% raka/ah he woul% recite 'eel an% "ura#sh without &lacin! the basmallah [bismillahi ar-1ahmani ar-1aheem] between them( This is what Ab%ullah ibn Mas/u% woul% %o too( The# knew the# were 2 se&arate surahs/ - but the# %i% it to show theclose connection between these 2 surahs/(

The se8uencin! of the surahs in the co&# of the "ur/an [Mus-haf] is either+ - Due to the 09ma/ ,consensus of the sahaba:com&anions- or 0t was re elation( ash-Shawkani 8uotes al 'arra/6 sa#s it is not Di ine se8uencin!( This surah is howe er is connecte% to the &re ious surah( This is because how Allah %ealt with the )thio&ians:Ab#ssinians who attacke%( This is because Allah sai% at the be!innin! of surah "ura#sh+ Lieelaafi Quraysh ,'or the con enience of "ura#sh-( The ;i ,'or- im&liesthat Allah %estro#e% the arm# of Abraha - ;i ,'or - the con enience ofthe "ura#sh-( So we see there is a connection between both surahs in their se8uencin!(
