What Is Addressing Childrens Concern?


Children will be able to identify with the problems of the characters and can work through those problems by connecting to the text. They can see how they are not alone. Can help children achieve selfactualization by assisting with issues dealing with safety, love and belonging and esteem.

Can be shared with children when dealing with concerns about safety homelessness; love and belonging, like bullying or family dynamics; or about esteem for example, being the best you can be.

Anytime a child is dealing with a tough situation!

Steps that can be taken in addressing childrens concern


1. Provide answers to the childs questions at the childs level of development. 2. An effective answer to the childrens questions about difficult events start with listening carefully to the question. 3. You can then help address an emotion like fear by putting the event in context. 4. Reassure the child about blame.

5. Ask the child what would help them feel better. 6. Above all the goal is to teach the children that bad things can happen in this world and we cannot control that, but we can control who we are and how we respond to those situations.

Bibliotherapy can help the children to discover all the possible ways to solve and cope with their conflicts no matter how hard it is and to decide a constructive course of action
