I admire Aung San Suu Kyi

I admire Aung San Suu Kyi. Aung San Suu Kyi was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in
1991. She is the resident of Rangoon, Burma. Aung San Suu Kyi was born on June
16th, 1945. She was educated in Burma, India and United Kingdom.

In, 1990 Aung San Suu Kyi was elected by the Burma people to be the
resident of Rangoon which won 59% votes. I admire Aung san Suu Kyi because she
won the election, but the military leader of Myanmar refused to step down and did
not recognize the result. In 1990-1995 the military put Aung San Suu Kyi under
house arrest. In 1991, Aung San Suu Kyi received the Nobel Peace Prize Award, that
time she was in house arrest so her husband, Michael received award for her. This
reason makes me admire her because I think that even she was under house arrest
what she had done for peace still make her received the award.

Aung San Suu Kyi was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize because the Norwegian
Nobel Committee wishes to Aung San Suu Kyi for her unflagging efforts and to show
its support for the many people. She fights for human rights and culture by
peaceful means.

Now, Aung San Suu Kyi still under house arrest in Myanmar. Also in 2009,
she received the award called International Award for Peace and Reconciliation.
This even makes me admire her more because she still received the award until
now. Aung San Suu Kyi still received an award almost every year because of what
she did for peace.

Aung San Suu Kyi’s child life is so sad because her father and sister died
when she was young. Her mother died when she was under house arrest so she did
not get to see her mother before her mother died. Aung San Suu Kyi did not get to
see her mother before her mother died because the military was so mean to her
and they don’t let Aung San Suu Kyi get out of her house.

Right now in Myanmar thers many people who love Aung San Suu Kyi
